Traditional debutante balls, complete with waltzes, flowing dresses, and the presence of friends, remain a ritual for many families and show no signs of losing their charm. What has changed in 15th birthday celebrations is the incorporation of innovation and technology, making the choice of venue an important factor.

A good example of how this milestone age has been celebrated in modern times took place at the Center Convention Uberlândia. On July 1st, twins Laura and Henrique brought society together for a glamorous event, complete with special effects, lights, a show, a DJ, and Instagrammable settings.

The young couple's mother, Andrea Hartmann, says that her daughter has been waiting for this moment for many years. “It’s very interesting because she always dreamed of this 15th birthday party. I always talked to her about it and offered her a trip with her friends, because I believed it was a trend, but since she was 10 or 11 years old she said she wanted a party that would shake up Brazil,” says the mother with a happy smile, on the eve of making her daughter's wish come true. 

When the decision was made to hold the party, as it was the birthday celebrants' wish, the search for a venue began, aiming for a modern, elegant, and unforgettable celebration. "We considered open-air spaces, we thought about having a garden, a different approach, but we had the Center Convention in mind because of its location, security, service, and support. We couldn't find another space that met Laura and Luiza's expectations; Luiza was the decorator and designed exactly what we wanted," she recounts.

“I wanted a party that wasn’t the traditional 15th birthday celebration, with the super-delicate, floral, feminine girl. It couldn’t be like that.” With this phrase, Andrea Hartmann began to show that the traditional had to give way to the modern, shedding the formal and classic air to create the idea of a party with a lot of technology, which included mapped projections made possible thanks to the support the venue offered. “Everything the decorator asked for and the company that brought the technology from Ribeirão Preto needed was already within the Convention venue, without the need for anything exceptional.”.

To make a dream come true at a 15th birthday party, the decoration and transformation of the space is essential. In the case of the twins, the responsibility fell to the event decorator and floral artist, Luiza Fiorito, who came from Belo Horizonte to organize the event. She says that 15th birthday parties and events in general have undergone many transformations, and highlights the main focus. "One of the things that most catches my attention in the market today is that clients want their essence materialized, so what I feel in the evolution of 15th birthday party decorations is that they want something that reflects their personality," she explains. 

If before there was a need to follow trends, such as using lots of flowers in the space, today it's essential to understand profiles. “I sit down with clients, learn their story, understand their personality, what they like, where they travel, why they chose the location, and I transform the space with the decoration. Each event reflects the client's personality, and we no longer have to offer what is standard.”.

For this project, she closely followed the twins' style, aware that from the entrance, the decoration would dictate the vibe of the party, showing those arriving whether it would be classic, lively, romantic, or technological, which was the birthday celebrants' choice, fulfilled with a lot of set design and effects. “Today, what can't be missing are Instagrammable spaces, the photo spot, the promotional spot. And it can't be just one spot; the entire party has to be an environment that goes on social media, that will be shared. They are from the digital age, and living in the moment means posting the moment,” emphasizes Luiza Fiorito.

The use of technology at 15th birthday parties.

To bring to life what the decorator had designed, using technology and a great deal of innovation, the businesswoman Camila Riberto Ramos, from Multisolutions Events She brought new features to the party. “Parties evolve along with the world and society, and this is the moment for technology in 15th birthday parties; that's the watchword. We no longer have parties just with flowers; there has to be a lot of light, LED panels, projections, and always a very strong project with a concept and the strong presence of the birthday person,” she explains.

One essential aspect highlighted by the businesswoman is that technology is the means, but its use depends on the space and the project. “Taking an LED panel as an example, it can be a one-meter-wide sign, a shop window, or the setting for a 15th birthday party that can become a castle or anything else. We need to take the technology and know how to bring it into the context of the project,” she emphasizes, while also noting that the location must be prepared and offer all the necessary infrastructure for this transformation, as is the case at the Center Convention. “Here we have everything we need, and after the renovation it's much better. We have a better work structure; the investments have yielded excellent results,” she concludes.

The organization of the entire event.

With nearly 25 years of experience in organizing events, initially corporate and later also social, Ana Paula Paixão, owner of E2 Events She was responsible for making this 15th birthday party happen, as well as so many others, in a growing market. “The 15th birthday celebrations have only grown, and we are at their peak. Now it's come with everything, and it's no longer just the tradition of flowers, but differentiated projects using technology, where the sky's the limit. It's an extraordinary evolution, an explosion we're experiencing,” says the event organizer.

One change noticed by the businesswoman is that there are no longer all those formalities, protocols, and traditional etiquette. "Today we can do something much more dynamic; what they don't want is to miss the party, they want several attractions in one night and to enjoy every minute of each party, with mastery of technology," she explains, noting that for this project, in addition to many special effects, a DJ and a live show with the singer were planned.
