Sebrae Minas celebrated its 50th anniversary in July of this year, with a proven track record of supporting micro and small businesses and transforming the lives of many entrepreneurs. The institution is a benchmark and stands out for its initiatives and actions to stimulate entrepreneurship, improve the business environment, and promote the economic development of municipalities in Minas Gerais.
Throughout this process of supporting small businesses, there has been no shortage of events, with the Center Convention hosting a large number of meetings and initiatives in various formats, in an increasingly consolidated partnership.

Successful partnership
The Center Convention was inaugurated In October 2000, it became a space of great importance for carrying out dozens of Sebrae Minas initiatives since then. A partnership that has grown stronger, so much so that this month, in which the institution celebrated its 50th anniversary, the Convention Center hosted the largest digital marketing event in the region. Reload 2022 was an opportunity for professionals from Uberlândia and neighboring cities to connect with leading figures in the field. It was also a time to build connections and acquire or enhance knowledge through unique content, in addition to traditional networking opportunities.

The traditional Central Brazil Business Roundtable and Central Brazil International Business Roundtable, organized by Sebrae Minas, also took place several times at the Center Convention. The venue hosted suppliers and buyers from hundreds of companies, generating increasingly better results. In the 2008 edition, for example, there were 2,539 meetings between 460 supplier companies and 61 buyer companies, with expected business deals exceeding R$1,140,333 million, which was characterized as the largest business roundtable in Minas Gerais.

Among other events held are the International Logistics Week, Trend Connection, the 2nd Uberlândia Furniture Show – MODU, Minascon – the largest unified meeting of the construction sector's production chain in Minas Gerais. In addition, several others were held by Sebrae Minas in conjunction with important partners such as the Federation of Industries of Minas Gerais – FIEMG Regional Vale do Paranaíba – and its unions, the Uberlândia Commercial and Industrial Association – Aciub, the Municipality of Uberlândia, the Uberlândia Chamber of Store Managers – CDL, the Federal University of Uberlândia – UFU, and many others.
The history of Sebrae Minas
O Sebrae Minas It was created on July 11, 1972, shortly after the creation of the Brazilian Center for Managerial Assistance to Small Businesses (Cebrae), which is now the Brazilian Service for Support to Micro and Small Businesses (Sebrae). In Uberlândia, the unit was inaugurated in 1977 and currently operates at Rua Izaú Rangel de Mendonça, 20, in the Santa Mônica neighborhood.
In Minas Gerais there are More than 3 million formal businesses, which account for 58% of jobs and 40% of salaries paid in the state. In addition, this segment of small businesses represents 99% of active companies in Minas Gerais.
According to a publication by the institution, in addition to individual assistance, supporting each entrepreneur in their journey leading their own business, Sebrae Minas invests in strategies for the development of sectors and territories in the state. Similarly, in business support, it offers various solutions to assist entrepreneurs in improving management and pursuing growth.
During the 50th anniversary celebration, the president of the Deliberative Council, Roberto Simões, highlighted that the service provided aims to awaken and strengthen essential attitudes and skills to increase the competitiveness of small businesses. “It is no exaggeration to say that a large part of the successful micro and small businesses in Minas Gerais transformed or correctly started their businesses with the advice and support of Sebrae Minas. The institution has a recommendation index higher than 83 points, a level considered excellent,” he emphasized.
