In other words, it depends,” shares Leo Bione.

But for those planning to complement the party's look with flowers, some points of attention are essential, such as the cost. "What happens is that the more flowers, the greater the investment, and when we have fewer flowers, that cost decreases. So it's necessary to understand the client's budget," the expert points out.

Regarding which flowers to use in the event's decoration, it's also important to pay attention to the date of the celebration. During spring, for example, a greater variety of species can be found, including at lower prices. 

There are some that are already traditional and more easily sold, such as roses, gerberas, and calla lilies. But let's learn about the species that are most common in each season to help you, whatever the date of your event.

Spring

Some of the most commonly used species in festivities are: lilies, sunflowers, azaleas, ranunculus, calla lilies, agapanthus, freesia, calla lilies, peonies, daffodils, gypsophila, tulips, lisianthus, and petunias.

Summer

Another tip for decorators is their work methodology. Bione shares that it's important to pay attention to the flowers that are most available each week. “I usually work with the best options of the week, precisely because of price fluctuations. So I define a range of information with my client, and we choose the flower species each week that offer the best cost-benefit ratio. Always respecting the client's wishes,” explains Leo Bione.

Market trends influence purchasing decisions. Besides highlighting flowers, colors, clothing, or other products and attracting consumer attention, they also impact prices. 

Now, when we talk about what's trending in terms of flowers for events, Leo Bione offers an important insight. "What I'm seeing a lot in the market is flowers with vibrant colors. Those strong colors that really grab attention," he says.
