It's hard to find someone who doesn't like good music, isn't it? An example of this, These are the 3.9 trillion music plays on streaming services in Brazil from 2019 to 2022, according to Ecad. And the resumption of musical events after the pandemic proves this taste among Brazilians. As a result, the schedule of concerts and festivals grows every year and attracts those passionate about good music!
But when we talk about organizing musical events, we need to think beyond the guest artist, setlist, ticket prices, and other factors. There's a crucial point that deserves significant attention from producers: the venue's acoustics.
A good acoustic design will guarantee a much better experience for the audience. Therefore, the content below explains the importance of paying attention to the acoustics of the space that will host your event.
So, what exactly is good acoustics?
Generally speaking, when a venue that hosts musical events has 'good acoustics', it means it's an acoustically comfortable environment. This means the sound doesn't 'trample' or there's no 'echo' in the space.
These good acoustic conditions are the result of a properly constructed environment, where methods were considered to minimize noise, improve sound concentration, and ensure that the sound is clear, not muffled or distorted.
Finally, it's worth highlighting that it's not just party venues that need this infrastructure; places like theaters and churches also need to be mindful of this.
How important is an acoustic design for musical events?
Now, speaking about why an acoustic design is extremely important for events like festivals and concerts, let's consider an example. When you go to some kind of musical performance, and the sound is too loud, or distorting in the high notes of the music, isn't that uncomfortable and tiring?
So, this is one of the reasons why a project is important: to guarantee a good experience. Furthermore, there's another factor. When musical events, parties, weddings, or graduations are held in a structure built with the correct acoustics, less investment is needed in sound equipment.
Compliance with the law
Another point that deserves special attention is that a venue hosting events in an urban area must comply with regulations. This is because these locations contribute to local noise pollution, which is regulated by each municipality.
The expression 'law of silence' refers to federal, state, or municipal laws that establish restrictions on noise generation during the day and night in urban areas.
Therefore, guidelines may vary from city to city. That's why an acoustic design for musical events is important, as it takes issues like this into account and prevents problems.
Center Convention is a venue for major musical events.

The Center Convention venue, in addition to hosting weddings, corporate meetings, 15th birthday parties and other events that include shows, lectures or presentations, has also been the stage for musical events, in particular.
Therefore, to host these meetings, the venue offers a unique acoustic structure designed to ensure a good experience for participants and comply with legal requirements. Now, check out some of the features the space has to guarantee good acoustics:
- Acoustic underlay – provides absorption of noise produced by impacts on floors;
- Carpet – reduces noise caused by the movement of people and objects, and also decreases reverberation and sound propagation;
- Partitions – their function is not only to divide spaces according to the size of the event, but also, their composition uses acoustic materials that prevent sound from one room from interfering with another;
- Double glazing in windows – provides thermal comfort, but its inner film helps to reduce external noise and reverberation;
- Baffles are acoustic panels installed vertically in the ceiling that improve acoustic performance and minimize noise propagation.
The Center Shopping Festival, for example, is one of the musical events that the Center Convention always hosts. And all the structure and care we mentioned above are put into practice to guarantee a high-quality show.
Check out what the last edition of the Center Shopping Festival was like.
Fueled by songs like "Aonde Quer Que Eu Vá," "Lanterna dos Afogados," and two dozen other hits, Center Shopping customers were delighted by the Paralamas do Sucesso performance at the Center Shopping Festival. The latest edition of the event took place on May 18th at the Center Convention Center.
It was over 90 minutes of great music, where the sparkle in the eyes of the packed audience was evident, as they sang along with the band.
It's worth highlighting that this was the 17th edition of this project, which began in 2014 and has always taken place in our space.
Finally, after yet another great presentation, you're left wanting more, aren't you? And the marketing manager of Center Shopping, Jonas Mendonça, tells us a little about what's to come:
“We held another edition of this project, which is a success and delights our customers from Uberlândia and the entire region, who are already looking forward to the next one. So I can already say that in 2024 we will have more Center Shopping Festival, and until then we will have many new things at the Shopping Center, even this year. We have new brands preparing to arrive, we will have other events involving music and gastronomy, and, in addition, we are accelerating the construction to deliver the new events plaza and the new Main Entrance that will transform the entrance to the Shopping Center on Avenida João Naves de Ávila, and will be a milestone in our history.
